There are 5 well known Judaica symbols which shout Israel to those who see them. The rich history of this modern and westernized country, reflects the ancient Temple, Israel’s kings, and its famous cities, which over the centuries have turned into recognized symbols.
Star of David– King David was known to lead his troops into battle with a six pointed star decorating his shield (Magen David). David’s Star came to be known by the public as a symbol of protection. Today it also represents Israel and the Jewish People.
Menorah – The seven branch Menorah was created during the time of Moses and Aaron the Priest. It was used in the temporary sanctuary for hundreds of years then in the ancient temple in Jerusalem. Today, a model of the Menorah stands in front of Israel’s Knesset and another one in the approaches to the Western Wall.
IDF-Israel Defence Forces – The symbol of the IDF is world famous and is special in its signifcance. Note that the sword is draped by an olive branch. Searching for peace but prepared to defend itself at any time.
The Chai – Life is what the letters of the Hebrew word Chai stand for and life and freedom is what Israel strives for. The symbol of Chai is known internationally and recognized by members of all religions.
The Dove – The Dove as a symbol of Peace dates back to the time of Noah and continues to serve Israel as a symbol representing its never ending search for peace for its citizens.
